【Vintage Azilal Rug】
Azilal rugs are
handwoven with high-quality wool, one by one,
by Berber women who have long lived
in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco,
preserving traditional techniques passed down through generations.
One characteristic is that the wool is dyed,
resulting in many colorful designs.
Even with the same rug, the impression can be completely different
depending on the design.
Because they are made by hand,
each rug has its own unique color scheme and pattern that can only be expressed through handicraft, making each one unique in the world.
Since wool is used,
it feels soft and pleasant to the touch,
but the pile is relatively short
and the weave is not too dense,
making it appealing as it can be used regardless of the season.
Changing its placement seasonally, such as under a table, beside a sofa, bed, or cabinet, or in the kitchen,
is one way to enjoy it.
In Morocco, they are also hung on walls
and appreciated as art.
