Azilal rugs are traditional rugs handwoven one by one with high-quality wool by Berber women living in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco who have inherited traditional techniques from ancient times.
One of their characteristics is that the wool is dyed, resulting in many colorful designs. Even with the same rug, the impression can vary greatly depending on the design.
Because they are handmade, each rug has its own unique color scheme and pattern that can only be expressed through this craftsmanship, making each one truly one-of-a-kind.
Since wool is used, the texture is soft and pleasant, but the pile is relatively short and the weave is not dense, making it attractive for use regardless of the season. Changing its location with the seasons, such as under a table, beside a sofa, bed, or cabinet, or in the kitchen, is one way to enjoy it.
In Morocco, they are also hung on walls and appreciated as art.
