Azilal rugs are handwoven one by one by Berber women who have lived in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco for generations, using traditional methods and high-quality wool.
Another characteristic is that the wool is dyed, resulting in many colorful designs. Even with the same rug, the impression can vary completely depending on the design.
Because they are handmade, each rug has its own unique color scheme and pattern, making them one-of-a-kind.
Since wool is used, the texture is soft and pleasant, but the pile is relatively short and the weave is not dense, making them attractive for year-round use. Changing their location seasonally, such as under a table, by a sofa, bed, or cabinet, or in the kitchen, is one way to enjoy them.
In Morocco, they are also hung on walls and admired as art.
