Woven by Berber women in the region called Boujad, these vintage rugs are made from wool or acrylic, inheriting traditional techniques passed down through generations.
Boujad rugs are also known as "Jewel Rugs" and are characterized by colors based on red, purple, and pink. Some have distinct patterns, while many feature abstract designs.
Each rug boasts a unique, creative color scheme and pattern that can only be achieved through handcrafted work. No two rugs have the exact same pattern or color.
Placing them under a table, beside a sofa, bed, cabinet, or in the kitchen, and changing their location seasonally, is one way to enjoy them.
In Morocco, they are often hung on walls and appreciated as art.
