These vintage rugs are woven from wool and acrylic by Berber women in a region called Boujad, using traditional techniques passed down through generations.
Boujad rugs are also known as "Jewel Rugs" and are characterized by their primary colors of red, purple, and pink. Some feature distinct patterns, while many others display abstract designs.
Each rug boasts a unique and creative combination of colors and patterns that can only be achieved through handmade craftsmanship. No two rugs share the exact same pattern or color scheme.
They can be enjoyed in various locations, such as under a table, next to a sofa, bed, or cabinet, or in the kitchen, and moving them around with the seasons is one way to appreciate them.
In Morocco, they are also hung on walls to be admired as art.
