Boucherouite rugs are recycled Moroccan rugs made by Berber women living in the Atlas Mountains, who weave together torn pieces of fabric from clothing and other textiles. Since each rug uses entirely different fabrics, the color combinations and lengths vary, making each one a unique item. In Morocco, these rugs are not only used on the floor but also displayed on walls as art, integrating them into daily life.
